Dr. Sarah Shelton

Dr. Shelton is a native of Paducah, Kentucky. She earned a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Health Psychology from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. She completed an APA-accredited residency at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Akron, Ohio where she served as Chief Intern. She also completed two postdoctoral fellowships in Medical Psychology and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, Georgia.
She is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Kentucky, Georgia, and South Carolina and has practices in all three states. She holds a special designation as a Health Service Provider by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and by the Kentucky State Board of Examiners in Psychology. Dr. Shelton has also earned the credential of Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist (MSCS) for her expertise in treating the psychological aspects of MS and her contributions to the field of MS-Psychology research.
Dr. Shelton is Clinical Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry & Health Behavior and the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia and is the Director of Pediatric Psychology at the Medical College of Georgia’s Children’s Medical Center. As a medical psychologist, Dr. Shelton provides treatment to patients and supervises residents and fellows at MCG.
She owns Psychological Wellness of Augusta, a private psychological practice specializing in health psychology, in Georgia and is a partner of Aiken-Augusta Holistic Health in South Carolina. She is co-owner of Psychological Wellness Group in Paducah, Kentucky where she holds monthly clinics to treat patients (children, teens, and adults) from the Paducah area.
